What You'll Be Doing
Clean is currently seeking an experienced Manager, Marketing and Communications to join our team in a leadership capacity. Although you may have started your career in any number of marketing or communications roles, your cover letter will highlight how you’ve rounded out your technical expertise with top-notch project and people management skills. In this role, you will help oversee the day-to-day aspects of Clean’s marketing and communications, and lead and manage a team of five to deliver on a variety of initiatives across multiple programs.
You’ll approach your work with a can-do mindset, be curious, resourceful, and open to growth and opportunities. As a demonstrated strategic thinker, you’ll be on the look-out for new and innovative opportunities to promote Clean and the work we do.
Through ongoing mentorship from the Director, Marketing and Communications, you will further develop your skillset and help support both internal and external communication and engagement strategies. And you will have a strong network of talented colleagues to engage and learn from.
Job requirements
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, plus eight years of marketing and communications experience.
- One to three years of proven experience leading team members in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of marketing principles and techniques, including digital marketing, content marketing and social media.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create engaging content and convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- Knowledge of marketing software and tools such as Canva, WordPress, Mailchimp or similar e-marketing platforms and social media management tools.
- Strong analytical skills and solutions oriented.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience managing and motivating a team or within a program or project.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting deadlines.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Job responsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management:
- Lead and mentor a team that promotes inclusiveness, collaboration, accountability, performance feedback and professional growth to all direct reports.
- Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate goal setting for team members.
- Relay important organizational, safety and process updates to the team.
- Address, re-direct or escalate issues to senior leadership as necessary.
- Collaborate with program and shared service teams to enhance organizational objectives and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Provide regular updates on team performance and status of project deliverables to the Director of Marketing and Communications.
Strategic Marketing & Communications Planning:
- Advise and support the team in the development and execution of communication and marketing plans and products strategies and marketing plans that support organizational goals and deliver on program objectives.
- Demonstrate strong project management skills.
- Conduct market research and industry scans to inform and evolve marketing and communications strategies and initiatives.
- Ensure brand consistency and messaging across all communication channels.
- Oversee the development and distribution of all communications and marketing assets.
- Support event planning and execution and any other special projects that may arise.
Media Relations & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Support with media relations, including media training, press releases and relationship management with media outlets.
- Maintain strong relationships with program funders, stakeholders and external partners.
- Support internal communications and funder relations as required.
Operational Oversight & Process Improvement:
- Optimize resource allocation to maximize efficiency and meet project deliverables.
- Track, evaluate and report on marketing campaign performance, offering recommendations to strengthen future project initiatives.
- Oversee budget management, including project budgets, mileage, and expense processing.
- Support project evaluations and contribute to ongoing improvements by providing recommendations and highlight opportunities
$67,000 – $75,000
A successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on various factors such as skills, experience, training and credentials, as well as other business purposes or needs.
