Job DescriptionRESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS). Position Summary Department / Research Program: CHAL Under the general supervision of the Director of the DREAM-CV lab, the employee’s goal is to assist with and secure research funding. The incumbent is responsible for drafting grant proposals, papers which includes but is not limited to preparing, reviewing, editing, budgeting, and managing and submitting proposals according to established methods. In addition, the incumbent supports the scientific aspect of the Program, directly involved in several cardiology research projects and supervision of Master and PhD students. General Duties Assist in identifying national and international funding opportunities

  • Lead scientific studies within the lab,
  • Draft, prepare and edit relevant parts of research proposals and research papers,
  • Assist with the submission of research proposals on behalf of co-investigators,
  • Liaise with funding sources and partners on behalf of DREAM-CV investigators,
  • Assist in negotiation of contracts and agreements with funding agencies and partners,
  • Initiate new research collaborations, design projects, supervise masters and PhD students, and execute effectively on multi-disciplinary research projects,
  • Communicate ideas and research findings clearly, both internally and externally, in written and oral forms,
  • Advise and collaborate on research project management issues, particularly with respect to project reporting,
  • Assist to host meetings to enhance funding and visibility of the research community and the students,
  • Maintain knowledge of latest discoveries relevant to the cardiovascular research.

Additional information Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek) Pay Scale: $54,327.00 - $100,882.60. Commensurate with education & work experience.
