Join our team at Atlas Appliances, providing appliance sales and service for many decades in Calgary. We are committed to excellence in all aspects of our operations and are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to support our financial management processes. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks. Responsibilities

• Record day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments using accounting software.
• Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Track accounts receivable, and follow up on overdue payments.
• Process accounts payable transactions, including verifying invoices, obtaining approvals, and issuing payments in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor and customer records, including contact information and payment terms.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including preparation of financial reports and statements.
• Conduct periodic audits of financial data to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Collaborate with the owners to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance internal controls.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven experience (3+ years) as a bookkeeper or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to reconcile complex accounts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of local tax regulations and compliance requirements is preferred.
