Finance Analyst

Company: Precision DrillingLocation: Houston, TXSummary This position will work closely with the Assistant Controller and report directly to the Senior Analyst, assisting with daily bank reconciliations, month-end reporting and analysis, budget and forecast planning, and year-end reporting requirements. Responsibilities Include

• Assist with the month-end close process
• Prepare and post journal entries, code corrections and accruals as required
• Prepare monthly reports to management explaining variances to Budget/Forecast
• Perform monthly analysis of assigned general ledger accounts
• Perform bank reconciliations
• Collaborate with Field Operations Managers and Superintendents to understand expense variances
• Continually looking for ways to improve the department and organization
• Assist in preparing year-end reporting requirements for Tax and Corporate Accounting
• Assist with the preparation of the Budget/Forecast
• Prepare ad hoc reports as required by field operations, management, and corporate personnel
• Participate in various special projects as needed
• Must be willing to work overtime during month-end close as needed
• Must follow company policies and department procedures
• Assist with the preparation of the budget and reporting

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required

Experience

• 2-4 years of experience in accounting preferred
• Prior oil and gas experience preferred
• Experience with a major ERP System (SAP preferred).
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), SharePoint, and PDF Editor
• Must possess strong knowledge of Excel
